Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

NOMAD is a digital companion application ("the App") operated by its creator ("we," "us," or "our"). You can contact us at jordman55@gmail.com.

2. Age Requirement

NOMAD is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you are under 13, do not use this service. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

3. Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to operate the App:

Account information: email address and username you provide at registration.
Pet and game data: your pet's name, archetype, stats, level, battle history, and actions you perform in the App.
AI chat messages: messages you send to your Nomad when using the "Nomad AI" (server-side) mode. Messages sent via on-device mode never leave your device.
Technical data: approximate IP address (for rate limiting and abuse prevention), browser/device type, and error logs.
First-party product metrics: we record a small set of usage events to understand whether the App works (for example: a landing-page visit, that an account was active on a given day, that a first chat happened, that a purchase completed). These are first-party only — no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services are used anywhere in Nomad. Page-level events are anonymous; account-level events store your account ID, the event name, and the date — never your message content, IP address, or device fingerprint. We honor your browser's Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals for these events automatically.

We do not collect payment card data directly. Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. under their own privacy policy.

4. How We Use Your Information

To create and maintain your account and pet.
To operate game features including battles, sync, and progression.
To send AI-generated responses in chat (Nomad AI mode only).
To prevent abuse and enforce our Terms of Service.
To diagnose errors and improve the App.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising.

5. Data Storage and Third-Party Processors

Your data is stored in the United States using the following services:

Supabase — database hosting (PostgreSQL). Supabase Privacy Policy

Stripe, Inc. — payment processing (when you make a purchase). Stripe Privacy Policy
Groq, Inc. — AI inference for "Nomad AI" mode. Only your chat message and your pet's in-game data (name, archetype, level, stats) are sent. Your email address, username, and account ID are never included. Groq is SOC 2 Type II certified and does not use API data to train models. Groq Privacy Policy

6. AI Chat and Privacy

Nomad AI (default): Messages are processed by Groq, Inc. on our behalf. Each request contains your chat message and your pet's in-game data (name, archetype, level, stats, and any memories you have voluntarily shared with your pet). Your email address, username, and account ID are never sent to Groq. Groq does not train models on API data.

On-device mode (desktop only): All AI processing happens locally on your device. No messages or prompts leave your machine in this mode.

BYOK (Claude, OpenAI, Gemini): Your messages are sent directly to your chosen provider using the API key you supply. Your key is stored in your browser only and is never sent to our servers.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at jordman55@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.

To delete your account and all associated data, email us with the subject line "Delete My Account" from your registered email address.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account and pet data for as long as your account is active. Inactive accounts (no login for 24 months) may be deleted. You may request deletion at any time.

9. Security

We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and JWT-based authentication. No system is perfectly secure; use a strong, unique password.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will note the updated date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
